The
english word "Laser" stands for "Light amplification
by stimulated emission of radiation"
This
radiation is non-ionizing, therefore the health hazard is much lower
compared to X-rays, gamma rays, ecc.
The
Laser beamsspecial feature (it is monochromatic, coherent, brilliant,
directional) make it different from any other light source.
These
features are responsible for the well-known biological effect of the
LASER. Several authors demonstrated a few major effects produced by
